ALPINE PEAKS, Placer County — October 31, 2026. As the Tahoe ski season approaches, the Alpine Peaks Residents’ Association is reminding property owners that winter access depends on considerate parking and clear communication with visitors.
The association’s published Homeowner Responsibilities guidance asks owners to observe winter parking rules and limit vehicles to the number that can fit on their driveway or in their garage. It also asks residents to slow down and make sure contractors, guests and renters know neighborhood speed and road-use expectations.
Why parking is different in winter
Cars left on narrow road edges can obstruct snow-removal equipment and emergency vehicles. The association’s general list does not publish a full street-by-street plowing schedule, so property owners should consult the current association notices or ask road-maintenance personnel about local restrictions before the first heavy snowfall.
What renters need to know
For short-term occupants, the association directs owners to communicate neighborhood expectations including nighttime quiet hours. The association lists 10 p.m. for its discussion of quiet time and directs complaints about rental violations to Placer County’s short-term rental reporting service, (530) 448-8003.
That reporting line is intended for code or rental compliance concerns, not an immediate safety emergency. Residents should use 911 for threats to life and verify the current short-term rental ordinance and enforcement jurisdiction before assuming any reported behavior constitutes a violation.
